Are these like TrueHD and Master HD, where a you may be able to decode one or the other, or are they more just two different specs of the same data?

My XBR for instance, has xtended dyn range and accepts HDR from Amazon, etc... Will it matter if a UHD Blu has DV or HDR10 on it? Would an HDR capable set be able to do either up to the best of it's abilities (I know DV has higher output), or is it the case where a display would handle HDR10 and not DV? This part of the spec is a little confusing to me.

Poster at AVS told me this. Makes me happy...

HDR10 is a basic level of HDR specifications and Dolby Vision is a premium HDR format with a higher level of specs. Dolby Vision is a two layered approach with a base HDR10 layer for all HDR capable sets and Dolby Vision certified TV's can read the extension data to create the full DV video stream.
