Not “universal” - although it supports SACD, it does not appear to support DVD-A.

Certainly no worse than the $300 NAD CD player.

Surely Onkyo (Pioneer's parent company) saw the void left by Oppo and decided to strike but is there enough quality content available on disc to support such an investment?

By the time we can afford this stuff, our sight and hearing has diminished to the point where we can no longer take full advantage of it.
