DP plus splitter for dual tuner receivers vs splitter independent receivers

I am currently running a VIP 722 receiver on a DP plus splitter and it works fine. I want to get rid of the 722 and power two single tuner 211 receivers from the same single cable input. There must be a different splitter used for this application, as one side of the DP plus has no output, when hooked to a stand alone 211.

DPP Separators do not work for two separate receivers. The single-tuner units do not utilize DPP technology.

Using two independent single tuner receivers will only work if you have two separate coax runs from the dish/switch. A separator will not work with two receivers.

I'm curious as to why you would want to do this. You wouldn't be gaining any functionality other than having two independent HD outputs and your bill would actually go up if the 722 is currently your only receiver on the account.

Is there any way to seperate the signal for two single tuner receivers? I have a jumper cable running from one location to the other and would like HD in the second location.

I am trying to avoid running a cable all the way back to the dish. How does the sling adapter and this Joey business work?

I am doing away with the 722 and DVR service. That reduction in the bill would allow for another single tuner receiver in the second location with HD enabled. There is a jumper cable installed and I was just looking for a way to split the signal and avoid running a new cable all the way back to the dish.

The only way is to run a new line from the dish or from a DPP switch to the second receiver.

You're going to have to run another cable back to the Dish no matter what. Either for a run to the second 211k receiver or the additional runs you'll need should you install a switch, in most cases it's at least 3 runs (one for each satellite location) into the switch.
