I was wondering If anyone has had trouble with there Dvr 522 just shutting off at times for no reason?

It started about 2 wks ago its happens in the morg, afternoon or late at nite any time while we are watching a channel it just ups and shuts down like it does when bad weather is near but this isn't the case.

It does restart all ok but just was wondering what is causing this.

At first I thought it was just the bad software L411 but it's doing it on the L412 also ..

I also don't think the fan is running like It use but a guess.
Because it use to make so much noise before and I don't think I been hearing it lately.

I have emails tech several times with no luck on solving this issue.

Have you pulled the ac power plug (hard reset)? If the fan has stopped you could be overheating talk to Tech support about a RA#.

Thanks for the Replys ..

Tech has replaced my 522 receiver with a 625 receiver so I hope this one will act better ..

One of my 522's has been doing the same for about the same period of time. Another person's 522 kept locking up and getting worse.

I have called Dish on a number of occasions and demanded they change out my pile of crap 522 for a 625. They refuse to do anything. I told them that I am paying for a service that doesn't work (I only watch shows that I record). They told me that all software is buggy and that I would just have to wait for them to fix the software bugs (My 522 is only on R412) and that I still needed to pay full price during this time!!!

What a bunch of crap!!!

Anyway, how did you get them to replace the 522 to a 625? I spent over an hour on the phone and talked to 2 different managers and they were as helpless as the first guy I spoke with.

It ain't going to happen unless you prove to them there is something wrong with the hardware in the receiver or talk to the account specialist by saying you want to cancel the account. Maybe try ceo@echostar.com
