DSR 605 now available

From what I read on another forum...

Ice they are speculating that PPV/sports/adult and new channels will be the first to switch in the future. How long that takes is anybodys guess. Remember they have commercial interests that would need to upgrade also and there is no indication that it has even started. I highly doubt that they would implement both mpeg4 and dvb-s2 at the same time. They need to test some different configurations (60/75e) that show the extra S/N ratio needed will not be a problem. I can see DVB-S2 implemented in 2012 when they have G1 available.
I have to admit that I am tempted to re-subscribe to Digital Basics again. With all the problems on DN with Buffalo HD locals and my wife missing Corry (Coronation Street) in HD, I may buy a new receiver.

my $0.02

Buffalo nets are not on Shaw anymore. They use Detroit for both SD & HD channels (except Fox which is WUHF Rochester)

Thanks guys, but I knew that...

I only want the nets in HD, I do not care where they come from. We live about halfway between Buffalo and Detroit, in Ontario. We have a place in Holiday Valley that I bring the receiver home from. It is incredible how fast the Buffalo spotbeam drops off here. Anyways, it would be nice to have Seatlle again also.

The Buffalo spotbeam on Dish is weird as it goes down to the SE. The spotbeam has Buffalo, DC, Philly, Baltimore and Norfolk, VA. So draw a circle and thats the spotbeam
