DTV Programing Prices

I recently added HDTV to my present programing package (HBO, Showtime, Sports Package & Total Choice Plus with Locals). When I added the HDTV, I asked the customer service rep if there was any way to lower my cost such as paying in advance for one year as Dish TV offers. I was told that I had no options. Later I called again with the same question and was told that they would reduce my monthly bill $10 if I agreed to a 6 month subscription to HBO, Showtime & the Sports Package.
Can anyone else share their experiences in negotiating lower monthly rates with DTV???
I feel like I`m shopping in Tiajuana, Mexico when I`m dealing with DTV. Is it just me, or is that how you have to negotiate with them????

Most likely you called back when there was a new offer in place and the EC was kind enough to offer it to you.

You want the best, you need to pay for it.
