DVR Recording

On my Motorola 6412 DVR I have noticed that if I set a series recording to only record 5 episodes that it continues to record after there are 5 already in there, only it doesn't add it to the list. Anyone else notice this?

I am not familiar with 6412, but could this setting mean "keep only last 5 episodes"?
