Do i use the same troubleshooting guidelines when troubleshooting a dw4000 as i would a 6000 or 7000?

No the 4000 uses software.
One quick tip. To "Force Range" change the zip code to something different, it has to be away from the location you are in. Wait a few minutes then change it back. The transmit unit should readjust for timing.

How would i for example check the modem status on a 4000? (I know on a dw6000 or dw/hn7000 i would type in 192.168.0.1) I have pretty good experience troubleshooting the newer systems but not the older ones.
