Charlie said that they have a system for determining whether a customer is worthy of a retention offer when they call to quit.

Dish has retention offers? They sure keep that hidden well. Do they have an actual retention dept. like DirecTV? Or, is it just another thing the clueless CSR's know nothing about?

I think you would fall under the "complain regularly" group...

Dish'n it out like new is an offer... reman 301's for legacy subs for dirt cheap. I see that often.. they like to throw in dishmovers and dish 500 upgrades.. alot of cheap offers, hardware-wise, to keep an invested in customer happy.

The CSR's don't know much about anything... they're just glorified switchboard operators.

I dont know if I should complaign about Dish anymore, Charlie just said on his Earnings Confrence call that customers who complaign are frowned down upon and will not be offered upgardes to new equipment. :(

He's probably doing them a favor by not giving them any of E*'s new hardware products ;)

Only when it's deserved. (BTW, I don't complain to them, other than a polite, but concerned email to ceo@echostar.com)

There ya go. I would think that consumers would think that would be something to complain about, as opposed to simply shrugging off and accepting as from a service provider.
