Is this bird going to be use for video feeds on FSS band 11.7 to 12.2 GHz?

This going to be operational on June 30th 2019!

The platform is a BSS/DBS/DTH configuration, so probably not likely to offer FSS services.

looks like Nimiq5 is about 10 years old, so maybe DN will progressively transfer the services to Echostar 23 (which is only 2 years old)?

Also, Echostar leases Nimiq 5 from Telesat. They do not own that bird. Perhaps they have received permission from the CRTC to place a bird at that location since it is a Canadian DBS slot.
