EHD errors

I can play programs on my many EHDs, but can not transfer them.

When transferring either direction it goes through the motions, just to get the error message at the end of the transfer. Transferring to an ehd will get very quickly "the transfer completed with errors" message. The error message has no code number, and it does not look familiar.

I haven't called tech yet, and wanted to post here first.

I tried two of my best old cables with no difference.

Any ideas?

Same thing happens to me here & there...there's some kind of error(s) in the data file for these particular shows & for whatever reason, it chokes doing a data x-fer. I suspect it actually happened when the show(s) was originally recorded on the HDD, perhaps in the way the show was broadcast from DISH & seems to be particularly from recordings from years ago. Could be errors in the EPG data that accompanies those shows.
Nothing you can do, except watch it or delete it...

Watch those you can, from the EHD. Those you can't see, MIGHT be viewable later.

Count on losing A LOT of EHD content. Especially as time goes by.

It sounds like the issue could be related to the EHD's formatting or firmware rather than the cables themselves. Before calling tech support, checking the drives for errors or reformatting them carefully might help. Using the human mind to systematically test each step can provide the most informational insight, and the discussion in the link might offer similar experiences to guide you.

Yesterday, I got a warning that EHD 1 had been disconnected, the about 30 seconds later, it reconnected. Still functions OK. First time in about 4 years on this Hopper. Something buggy going on.

I can move from one EHD to another but I first need to bring it to the Hopper, I've done this multiple times going from 1 to 2 TB, etc. The problem I notice is when all were on my 4TB drive, not all recordings appeared. There must be a max number of programs?

I took a good empty HD, formatted it on the Hopper, and I get the same error - will not transfer a show.
I am using WD Elements 1 and 2 tb drives, nothing bigger, and never any issues to speak of through the years.
