Has anyone had any issues using EHD that are powered by USB? Thinking about get a Seagate Slim for my Hopper but would like to use one that is powered by USB only.

Dish officially states the EHD should be AC powered. Some people have had luck with USBs, others have not. So, if you want to avoid possible problems, stick with AC powered.

A powered USB hub may be the answer to your question. Many in here use one to connect all of their USB devices (EHD, OTA dongle, wireless USB dongle, etc) to their Hoppers.

AND, many have reported problems with too many USB devices. Why add another problem?
