Epix arrives on DirecTV, launches soon on DirecTV Now

Not sure the truth behind this since as we know everything we read on the internet is true, but I've seen reports and comments state that MGM does not want Epix to be included in packages, they want it a la carte only and as carriage agreements that were made under the Viacom ownership expire, Epix will become a la carte only.

That does seem to follow the pattern. When Comcast picked up Epix last year it was added on an a la carte basis only. About a year ago Charter stopped including Epix in the TV Gold package and made it a la carte only for new subscribers. Grandfathering for existing subscribers ended in February of this year.

The $6 price point is something that has been maintained. While the a la carte prices of HBO or Showtime vary from one MSO to the next by a dollar to two, $6 seems to be the rate for Epix. That's what Comcast is charging for it, Charter was charging $15 for it, but it was dropped to $6, Orby added it recently for $6, and now we have DirecTV charging $6.

.
what about complete packages or all in ones?

All signs point to it being a la carte only and not included in any bundles or top tier TV packages.

As a Charter customer I can confirm that is now the case for them, this thread from Comcast's own forum confirms it for them, sounds like it will be that way for DirecTV.

Verizon still includes it in 'the more you buy, the more you save' bundle for premiums.

Same here.

Don't really care abut the movies personally. Epix has some good original programming. Berlin Station was great, but it was canceled after the end of the third season. Deep State, a show imported from FOX UK is excellent and I'm looking forward to the premier of Perpetual Grace, LTD next month. Also going to give Godfather of Harlem a shot. Not sure if I'll like it, but I always enjoyed Forest Whitaker's acting so I'll give it a try. Epix reminds me a bit of Cinemax, both get no love for the original programming, but unlike Cinemax, Epix has first run movie rights to a bunch of studios

EPIX also has a great selection of older movies, that I like. I have EPIX Now, I might change to getting it with DirecTV to try, I like EPIX Now, it has all 4 channels. Only thing I don’t like is that you cant pause or rewind live TV. Most everything is on demand, but I still like to be able to pause and rewind.

You can't pause FF and RW with Epix ?

On DirecTV, yes you will be able since it’s a DVR, I’m talking about Epix Now, the stand-alone steaming service. You can watch live channels all of them, it not pause or rewind on it, the Epix Now app. Everything is on demand though.

Another Movie channel I'll never see/watch.

I don't know how Direct TV has their set up with streaming like Dish Anywhere, but Epix has a HUGE library "The Vault" (On Demand) with hundreds of old rare movies, some good, some not, but Epix has that special service that no other service I have found has. Some made for TV movies, not available anywhere. A fun service. EPIX is unique. Did not realize it until I got Dish Anywhere. The EPIX app is also free on the Roku with a satellite/cable subscription.
