I am scheduled for an equipment update on Saturday and it sounds to me like the only real difference will be that my main receiver will be solely wifi and not wired to the tv. Has anyone else had sucj an update and ,if so, how does it compare ?

I'm guessing your talking about the HS17. It does not have any video output on it and each TV will require a client box to watch tv. Depending on the current receivers you use, there are some pros/cons to getting the HS17. The biggest issue is no OTA support on the HS17, so if you have lost local channels, you will not be able to view them on your DTV equipment and will need to use your TV or some other device.
