I am currently beyond my contract date. I was on the dish network website and saw that they have a new receiver out the VIP922. I have a VIP722 HD DuoDVR receiver and a HDDuo 222. I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade to the new VIP922? or if its not worth it and i should stay with what i have.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Here is a link for the requirements for both the VIP922 and the Sling Adapter. You could have problems with latency when trying to stream content. Requirements

He's asking about LAN performance. In this situation, the Dish websites are only used for all that authentication mumbo jumbo; the data stream does not go out to Dish and back again if the receiver and client are both on the same LAN. So I claim a Wildblue connection would work just fine for LAN-LAN use. If you had one of those dialup routers, that might work too assuming you stayed connected long enough for the authentication and handshaking. (But I have neither so I can't try it.)

Complete Signal loss

My 722 calls "home" more than 12 times a day!
