Error 061 on a VIP 411

Went to watch TV this afternoon and found 1 of my VIP411 showing an error 061 "Boot Recovery" blue screen. It has been in this state for over 4 hours now. It completes a cycle try to go to a normal screen then back again. It is hot in the room I have the receiver, 91 degrees, since wwe lost our AC over the weekend. Is the receiver "toasted"???

Sounds like the hard drive is toast or maybe even corrupted boot sector. Have you contacted Dish?

LOL....VIP 411 does not have a harddrive.

Sounds like a failed software upgrade. That particular screen shows up when a software download goes wrong and the data in the receiver's memory is corrupted. It's a last ditch attempt by the receiver to resurrect itself. Not sure what could have caused it, but you could try putting it in a cooler location, or try a power cycle (unplug for 30 seconds, then plug back in). Note that it will probably do the boot recovery cycle at least once, to get a good version of the latest software. If it's still doing it, again and again, contact customer service.
