error message question

Anybody knows what this means (dmesg output)? google wasn't much help


FAT: FAT read failed (blocknr 31773)
1:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to dead device
FAT: bread failed in fat_clusters_flush

Sounds like your USB device has one or more bad blocks. When are you getting this error message?

It has something to do with the external WD hard drive. The hard drive works fine on a laptop. But, I tried reformatting it with the WD FAT32 format utility but the Elite still doesn't see the hard drive. The hard drive does have power when connected to the Elite.
