ESPN2 Not available for USC vs Oregon

Anyone else getting a "channel not available" for ESPN2? I have the Texas game on ABC, and supposedly ESPN2 has the reverse mirror. What gives?

I can't watch the OSU-TX game at all.

On DirecTV ESPN2 is also blacked out, the Texas/OK game is on via OTA. But there is an ESPNalternate channel up with the USC/Oregon game on/viewable, you might want to see if Dish also has an ESPNalternate channel up for the game.

The USC game is on ESPN2 Alternate, Channel 146. I forgot about the alternate channels since I usually only use the "HD only" Guide listing. Check your alternate channels to see if the game is there.

Showing a game that is produced in HD, in SD, sucks!

I don't understand why the ESPN Alternate channels aren't in HD. That's just insane. Thank goodness for my HD Distants

Texas/O is on Espn2 here in Alaska. I am watching the USC/Oregon game on ABC on HD distants.

There's 3 reasons for that:


Bandwidth, bandwidth, and, um, oh yeah - bandwidth.

If the providers didn't have to carry 714,629 copies of the SAME programming just to satisfy local pocketbooks (they've got to get their 3 minutes per hour of local ads in), we would have HD everything.
