I've never heard of EuroSport. I know of EuroNews, which is on Bell ExpressVu.

Do you know which satellite it's on?

it is on:
Astra: technical details

Name:ASTRA 1 C

Position: 19.2° East

Transponder: N°4

Frequency : 11 259 Mhz

Polarity : Vertical

English audio : 7.02 MHz

German audio : 7.20 MHz

and..
at the same time i was wondering if i could get the portuguese RTP international?

thank you

Eurosport--unless you cut the earth in half, no :)

RTPI is on AMC4 (101W) which can be picked up in North America with no issues :)

Maybe if you lived in St. Johns, NF, and had a 30 meter dish...

Sorry, ain't gonna happen. The sat (Astra, right?) is at 19.2° East and therefore won't be seen much outside of Europe (where it can be viewed easily with a 60cm dish).

I once had a crazy thought of living in St. Johns after my retirement, just to access the Euro satellites from there using a big dish with elevations of < 5 degrees.

I checked out the footprints of the Euro birds, and it looked like the Euro beams covered a big piece of land on the upper left hand corner. I thought that was the Maritimes.

As it turned out, that big piece of land was only Greenland.

That big piece of land is the neatest place I ever been in my life, I lived there for 53 weeks. Beautiful place. :yes

Here are some photos of "The Big Island in the North." Wish we had satellite TV back then. We had one channel that was on about 6 hours a day/night with reruns and delayed sporting events. We watched the 1972 Indianapolis 500 (ran Memorial Day) on the 4th of July. Now they have 75 to 100 live channels, via satellite, of course.

I forgot to note that the J-Site photo was taken around Noon, Atantic Standard Time.

Thanks for the RTPI clarification.
