Excellent article about the greed of colleges when it comes to those big money contracts.

Same old, same old uninformed crap about making college sports into AAA NFL and AAA NBA by paying players.

To review:

- A full-scholarship means tuition, books, room and board, worth nearly $100K.
- It also includes special tutoring at no charge, and early access to class signups.
- Most, not all but most, DI football schools are highly selective, and man, not all but many, athletes are taken under exemptions to the normal admissions policy.

But most importantly:

Scholarship athletes can still avail themselves of the regular financial aid and student loan programs, (and, in many case, of their family's money) but, of course, freed of actually paying for anything academic, can use that money for whatever they wish. The idea of the dirt poor student-athlete living hand to mouth is a myth.

Don't want to go to a great college, for free, get special academic treatment, and end up with a microscopic student loan debt contrasted to others? Then don't play sports and get in the same line as everybody else.

A myth?! Yeah...ok.
