exiting netflix or prime apps

Any pro tips on exiting these apps easily? I swear you have to back all the way out to the main menu and then go through the physical exit process. There has got to be a trick i am missing. For example, thursday night football when there is a commercial, Its at least 5-7 clicks to get back to the main dish network interface to watch something else. Im pretty sure i have accidentally sat on the remote when using one of these apps and i hit the magic exit button but cant figure it out when trying to do it on purpose.

You just hold down the back button, takes you completely out of any app or menu to live TV, hence why it says live TV beneath it.
