External HDD Feature

Is there any such feature with Direct? Can I easily move recordings to an external harddrive and then watch from there?

Sorry to ask for clarification, but do you mean Dish as in "Dish Network" or Directv?

I have this feature now on Dish. I woudl liek to know if D* offers the same feature.

From talking to a retailer yesterday, the answer is yes. He also told me you would be able to burn them on a pc.

DirecTV is coming out with the ability to watch on your PC the shows that you recorded on the HR20. This was announced last week at CES.

With the HR20 or HR21 DVRs you can attach an eSATA external hard drive. This will replace the internal drive, not work in addition to it. There is currently no way to transfer programs between drives, but it allows you to have a larger drive with capacity for more recordings.
