I haven't seen anyting on this lately. Is it still going to happen on 8/15?
If so, how will E* inform people of the availability of it?
How will they collect the $39? Credit card or added to monthly bill?

From what I've read (and from the video someone posted), the expanded hard drive will not operate seemless.

My understanding is that new recodings are placed on the internal drive. If you want to move a recording from the internal drive to the external drive (or vice versa), you need to issue a command via the 622 user interface. I presume that if you record a new program, and the internal drive is full, the 622 will delete the lowest priority program on the internal drive, even though there may be plenty of space on the external drive.

Is my undestanding correct?

I saw the video on youtube and I think that is how the rep demonstrated how manual transfers. But I dont think he specifically said one way or the other about anything automatic.

I've neither seen nor read anything about the external HDD having any sort of "automatic" options at all. As I said in another post, an option to queue up recordings for moving to the external drive would be nice. Schedule them to move in the middle of the night or something. Another variation is to be able to select multiple recordings to move vs having to move them one at a time.

I'm hoping that with E* officially supporting this feature, things like this may be added in the future. For now, I'll be happy to see it launched succesfully with the manual transfers.

Have you read any of the replies people have made to your question ?

Listen, I have a crappy satellite internet connection and can't spend hours looking through all these posts to see if possibly this has been addressed. Please, just answer the question or not. Leave your sarcasm at home.

Replies 2, 3 and 6 all told you the same thing. Apparently you want information hand-delivered ?? Sorry, ain't gonna happen. People aren't big on the idea of re-answering the same questions over and over when threads, with these answers, are already out there.

I understand how you feel. The software will be starting to go out on the 8th of August. It may take a few days for everyone to receive it.

This person doesn't mind answering questions over, and over, and over again...I just provide a link to my search. Additionally, I am using my PDA web browser a lot more these days. Due to the lack of functionally and speed, I am much more included to ask simple questions rather than spend 10-20 minutes searching through various threads on a tiny little screen.

That's not considering good behavior - you expect to serve you by other ppl who should spend their time for search and make new posts.
Plus we have unmanageable Internet forums with redundant outdated/wrong info replicated many times, arggh.
