i remember these thingsYour not that old ... if your saying A/C was an option.
I remember when there was no A/C option ...
Do you remember when you had to hand crank the windows (I'm sure you do).

Just because it was an option, doesn't mean everyone had them ... Most of your Classic Cars (Muscle Cars) didn't have A/C.Air Conditioning ("Weather Conditioner") was a factory option in model year 1940 Packards.
In 1930, external swamp coolers were available.
Cadillac offered the first climate control ("Comfort Control") in 1964.

A couple of years ago the dealership I go to was broken into and apparently a group of thieves drove the cars right out of the showroom like something out of Gone in 60 Secs. They got the keys, opened the big glass bay door and just drove off, but not before also stealing every tool in the service area that wasn't locked up.Until you get out of the car and walk away ...
At least you know where the car is if someone else has taken it.
The people in charge can find a car, without your phone ...

Good luck with that ...A couple of years ago the dealership I go to was broken into and apparently a group of thieves drove the cars right out of the showroom like something out of Gone in 60 Secs. They got the keys, opened the big glass bay door and just drove off, but not before also stealing every tool in the service area that wasn't locked up.
Among the vehicles stolen was an F-150 Raptor, Bronco Raptor, Explorer ST, and a slightly used Aviator. A Dark Horse and used Taurus SHO were left untouched, All cars were able to be tracked down via the Ford and Lincoln apps. The fleet of a dozen or so Police Interceptors parked to the left entrance of the showroom were left untouched as well for some reason
If it was me doing the thievery, I would have done my homework and pulled the fuse that powers the LTE modem.
It was a deleted option on quite a few of them. Most of your Classic Cars (Muscle Cars) didn't have A/C.
So you bought a xxxxbox that came with no radio as standard equipment( Geo - a collaboration, or should i say an abomimation between Chevy and Suzuki)and want to hold it up as a typical standard vehicle of the era? When I bought my new 96 Geo Metro a stereo was optional. I declined as I worked at Radio Shack and had a 'big pimpin' stereo and speakers I could put in instead![]()
My apologies that was harsh; never a fan of GEOs especially metros. OTOH LOVED Radioshack and miss them dearly! So you bought a xxxxbox that came with no radio as standard equipment( Geo - a collaboration, or should i say an abomimation between Chevy and Suzuki)and want to hold it up as a typical standard vehicle of the era?

i think toyota's doing it to!!! won't be long before they drive themselves to the junkyards if you don't pay the monthly noteI didn't know that was still happening on the BMW.
I hadn't heard that GM and Ford were thinking about it ... I' try to keep up on the Ford stuff, haven't heard about that yet.
As far as Tracking you, no they are not, well, not as in Lets Follow Jimbo and see where hes going ...
That said, YES, they know where the Vehicle is at all times ...
You don't hear much about Life Lock for your Vehicle any more, why is that ?
Because, the Computer on your Vehicle knows where you are ... My App, tells me exactly where my vehicle is, not sure why they try to Steal them anymore, unless they are Older and don't have such a feature.
The Car is Not tracking you .... the manufacture may know where the vehicle is, doesn't mean it knows where You are.
Do you use Waze Navigation ?
If so, every time you post on it that a crash or a cop or a slow down is happening, your Telling them where you are ...
Btw, thats Not the same as someone tracking you, your volunteering the info.
I'm not sure what they were driving, but I had an Employee who was behind on her bills, they would shut her car OFF ... she couldn't drive it again till she paid and I had to write her a note to the company that she was indeed working and willing to pay her bill.i think toyota's doing it to!!! won't be long before they drive themselves to the junkyards if you don't pay the monthly note![]()
