Fox Agrees To Buy Controlling Stake Of YES Network

So what does this mean for branding of the network. Will we still see the Yes graphics and music package or will that get rolled into the generic Fox sports look.
Probably, that's what happened when Fox bought SportsSouth from Turner/TimeWarner.

Fox bought SportSouth from Turner. It became Fox Sports South. Then Fox bought Turner South from AOLTW and then renamed it SportSouth. It also appears that the Time Warner stuck it to the Braves when they locked in a long term rights deal with Fox when they sold Turner South.

Scott,

What other channels is Fox withholding from Dish?

Nope FOX and DISH are fighting like cats and dogs because of the Hopper, in fact FOX just removed Sports Time Ohio from DISH and I hear they are not talking. This is one of many sports channels FOX withholding from DISH.

Reports say that Fox will handle the money while Yes executives will still be in charge of programming, so for the time being it sounds like Yes will remain Yes with no real changes.

So just a name change ... so far.
Hopefully we don't see Fox Sports New York. It will probably happen at some point. I wonder what would be worth more, The Yankees network or the generic Fox Sports branding.

Suzan Waldman is on WCBS radio with John Sterling, Kay is on YES.
