Frank Gifford, the former New York Giants star who had a long post-football career as a sportscaster on TV and radio, died Sunday of natural causes at his home in Connecticut. He was 84.

NBC News confirmed Gifford's death in a statement. Gifford was the husband of "Today" anchor Kathie Lee Gifford.

I remember when Frank was the play-by-play guy on MNF and he had Howard Cosell and Dandy Don Meredith alongside him. It's funny how two ex-Giant greats (Gifford and Summerall) were two of the three (along with Dick Enberg) prominent pbp guys for most of the 70's and 80's. RIP Frank

Weren't those three the originals for MNF ?
That would have been the early 70's iirc.
