I'm considering buying a FTA receiver, but i've heard that the time to use these things might soon be ending, my friend said something about how they're introducing Nagravision 2, or something along those lines, which current FTA receivers cannot decode. is there any truth to this, if so, how much time is left for current FTA systems? is it worth buying one now?

Nagravision 2 will only effect people who are trying to get pay channels for free; in other words, people who are trying to steal service. For the legal/free channels, Nagravision 2 will have no effect. So to answer your question, it is definitely worth buying a system now.

I can`t wait for it all to come to the end. So I can pick up another pansat 2500 for cheap.

**sigh**

give me a "C"
give me a "L"
give me a "O"
give me a "S"
give me a "E"
give me a "D"

what's that spell??

per OP asking a hack question :)

and yes Tommy...it will be nice when Nagra2 is 100% working, because then FTA receivers prices will probably go down because only the true hobbyist will use them :D
