the vu duo looks interesting. time will tell if it decodes 4:2:2 and has hardware blindscan

If they're talking about Broadcom BCM1125H MIPS processor - it looks like a very capable performer for web appliances, the only suitable in current lineup, and will require a separate integrated Tuner / Demod / possibly Decoder (a graphics chipset). With this 800Mhz proc (compare to SatHawk's 333Mhz) Vu Duo would be able to play 4:2:2 pic-in-pic either in hardware by the Decoder, or even in software using a suitable Linux codec, and would certainly record high bit rates without a glitch to eSATA or internal SATA HD. Impressive stuff, interesting to watch, where the industry is going. It might not be that expensive either, at least wholesale, since all components required are cheap older gen (except the demod) and very well supported in schematics and reference firmware. Its like using an older Intel proc in a PC - can do HDTV easily with a suitable older graphics card and is pretty cheap.
