If anyone runs into any information about where Fox and CBS KU DSNG channels are being rerouted to due to the Galaxy 26 problem I would appreciate an update. There are a few signals still there but quite a few are gone.

They do have the in orbit spare Galaxy 12 that they could use. But it is Cband only.
On June 29, 2008, Galaxy 26 had a power failure in one of its solar panels. It lost 15 watts out of a possible 37 watt capacity, which is very important for charging the batteries. Some cable networks, as of June 30, 2008, have started to offload their feeds to backup satellites as to keep themselves on air in the event of total failure.
Fox News has moved operations to Galaxy 16 Transponders 7, 9, and 11, and to AMC 5 Transponder 4K Slot F according to a Fox News Internal Email. A CBS source has said their backup satellite has been stable, and there should be no down-time. During the evening and night hours of June 30, 2008, CBS will have switched all of the affiliates to their backup satellite systems as to preserve their programming.
Galaxy 26 has had its share of problems since its February 19, 1999 launch. It has lost a backup command and control receiver, the back up computer, and has completely shut off twice.
couldnt they co-locate G12 and G26 together?
