I have just ordered a new Sonic View from Allstar Wholesalers and want to know what the FTA users think of their products. I am getting it to replace a Mercury II receiver which has been having problems with losing the information for the satellite locations and updating it using the serial cable is difficult since none of the computers I have supports it. I have checked this receiver out and it has USB 2.0 support and think it will work fine if I have this same problem. I don't know much else about the company which sells it except there is probably better support for it than there is for the Mercury II receiver I have. I have a motorized dish and can only receive a 9 channels right now.

I love my Sonic View 360 Elite. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't do AC3 unless you use the optical output.
PVR functions work great and it's been flawless with the SG2100 on a 39" dish.
Seems the Coolsat is the choice around here but when I asked some legitimate questions about them in comparison to my SV, my post was deleted. We'll see if this one stays up?

Connecting the Sonicview 360 Elite
I have the Sonicview Elite 360 and it has two set of RG-6 Connections on the back of it. The satellite dish is connected to the First connection, but according to the manual in order to connect this receiver to a TV you need a Loop Through Cable which is not included with the kit. I could not find anything locally or on the internet, so I tried making one, but it still didn't work. Where can you get a Loop Through Cable to make the setup work. I wish that I had known this before buying this unit.

Make a 2..3 foot coax cable with two appropriate connectors.
But this is just ONE way to hook up the receiver.
More likely, you'd hook one input to one dish (LNBF) and the other input to a different dish (LNBF).

I believe the loop through cable is only used for recording between the two tuners and it's not keeping you from watching anything. It's also just a coax cable...use a spare you have laying around from an old VCR.
You need to go into more details on what the box is doing or not doing. It's probably a matter of configuring it properly for your LNB.

The problem I am having is getting a signal on my TV from the receiver. This unit really is difficult since the manual don't give you much information. It must have been printed in Korea also. The Mercury II was easy to setup compared to this receiver. I appreciate any assistance given.

Did you read the replies to your other post?
Hook your coax from the dish to tuner 1 and then choose what ever output you want to your TV. As simple as hooking up a VCR. If you want to record one show while watching another, add the loop through cable.
What do you mean by no signal from the receiver to the TV? Do you have a blank screen? Scrambled screen (set to PAL maybe)? Are menus coming up but no satellite signal? Give some detail as to what's happening.
Also the manual that came with mine is very detailed and easy to follow with straightforward english. If yours is in "chinglish", you probably bought a Chinese knock off.

I only have one LNBF on my one motorized dish coming in to the receiver. I have gotten a Radio Shack Splitter and made two RG-6 lines with connectors on each end and one cable from "B in" to Set 1 plug on splitter. The other cable is connected from set 2 on splitter to "A out" on receiver. The Input connector on splitter is connected to RG-6 connector to Analog TV. The RG-6 cable from the dish is connected to the "A in" connector. There still is no signal received by the TV and the receiver keeps booting until it gives up.
This thing has been such a headache for me until I want to use the unit for target practice and start over with another brand. I probably would feel better.

There is no signals received by the TV, even after using a splitter so connect it up. I am just trying to obtain FTA signals like I got with my older receiver. No recording or anything like that. Getting the picture is my first priority right now. The company selling it should be ashamed at how little they support the users or give detailed hook up information. This will be my last product from them that I will purchase.
I don't think you would want to Mercury II since it has lost it's satellite information and only has a serial plug to put reinstall this information. None of the computers I have can connect to it because of the lack of a serial plug on the computer. None has it.
It may work great if you have 2 lnbf's which I don't and right now it is a piece of junk for me. As frustrated as I am it may end up being a target for my rifle so I can satisfy my frustration.

It can't possibly get any more simple.
Are you trying to use this on a 1970s TV with nothing more than a coax antenna input? It's not going to broadcast to channel 3 or 4.

Im sorry it hasnt worked out so far! Its really a crap shoot on buying a FTA receiver these days.Buy a sathawk 800! it may not do everything but for HD,s2 and a great blind scan it may be the best cheapest thing out there to buy.

Hook a cable from RF out to the TV
If you want to use the 2nd tuner, hook a cable from "Sat A Out" to Sat B in
ok...here is the back of my Pansat 6000.....yours probably looks similar but note the names of the inputs
cable from the dish/motor goes into the far right top input (#5 on the pic...IF 1 input)
cable to TV is the one on the far left top (#1 on the pic...RF out)
if I wanted to use both tuners, run a cable from the far right bottom (#6 on the pic...IF 1 output) into IF 2 input (#3 on the pic....IF 2 input)
#4 is not used

Is IF1 OUT and IF2 OUT the same as an RF OUT? Wouldn't that need to transmit to analog channel 3 or 4?
The manual for the SV360 states the IF1 is for another LNB or to go to another receiver. IF2 is also for another receiver.
If he doesn't have at least a composite input, couldn't he just use an old VCR with composite inputs and then RF out to the TV?
