i was wondering if any of you ever pick up any of the atlantic sats? i was able to pick up a few channels from amazonas at 61 deg and intelsat 9 at 58 deg, anything good out that way? i might adjust my dish a bit to get some of the sats or experiment with it.

I am in Los Angeles with a 1.2 Meter dish and I have picked up some feeds and channels on 55 Degrees West.

Since your in Texas you should be able to receive satellites up to 30 Degrees West, if I were you I would blind scan every singe satellite, it is time consuming but it is worth it.

are you able to pick up channels at 55w? Last time I checked, they were all data on Ku.

Edit: forgot I am in C-band forum....:), 1.2m with C-band lnbf should pick up few channels at 55w because they are circular.

I can not get any Ku on 55 Degrees West, I can pick up a few data transponders on 53 Degrees West Ku.

Also I do not think that 55 Degrees West is a circular satellite, Lyngsat shows the transponders listed as H and V, Lyngsat does show 53 Degrees West to have R and V transponders, so you must be thinking of it.

I just blind scanned 55 Degrees west and I found some new audio channels that I liked, I hope they are permanent channels and stay FTA, they should since the channels are broadcasted on Shortwave Radio.

Since the channels are not listed on Lyngsat I can not name them.

Ah, I was talking about 53. You are correct, 55w is linear. Couple of them shows soft-porn movies after midnite...:), also good sat for those who are soccer fans...

hey when you say say SportsMax do you mean there is allot of soccer there? also what does dvb mean. im trying to get ready a system to ship to haiti to pick up brazil world cup qualifiers so im hoing this channel usually carries them.
thanks
Jose

i got intel9 at 58.5 deg, i think it is 58.5,not 58 deg. funny too, i cant get my 40 inch ku to go out far east like that because of the trees. no problem for the bud. these trees are a good 90 ft high and only 80 ft away. bud shoots right through them. so i guess i should higher the dish because the more i higher the dish the farther east it will go. where i am at right now i cant go any farther than the 58.5 deg sat. the dish gets froze for a moment when i try to,so that is defently my east limit right now until i make an adjustment. i will look at lyngsat and see if the channels are good. porn for free? never heard of that. i didnt know you could ever get free porn, that would sell some sats! lol!

SportMax is encrypted now, but there couple of other channels that show soccer.
Canal has Laliga (Spain), TRP has Portugal, Capixaba has delay EPL (English) and live Italy...

I though sportsmax is encrypted now.
Can anyone confirm this or is it still FTA?

Got a clear LOS to AB1, for me there is not much out there. If you need anything checked, just ask.

Capixiba has PAN2007 coverage, live. Watching Volleyball as of now...in case anyone looking for PAN2007, definately not wildfeed but US TV does not cover much Rio PAN2007 except ESPN Deportes
