First, let me say...long time lurker, first time poster :hatsoff:
I've got a possible Direct convert, they are moving next week and looking to make a change.
I've explained all of the advantages, the latest news on HD, VOOM, MPEG4, you name it.
Now it is all about the deal, as a lot of that stuff goes right over their heads.
They are looking at the 942, with a possible 811 (or 625) as a second reciever.
I've explained the swirling rumors/facts about the new receivers, but they need to make a decision now, they are moving in a week, and having DirecTV free move them will lock them in for another year.
Now that you have the background... here is my question:
Is there a "better" way for a new customer to order programming than a straight call to the main line, or off the web???
Is there a way to get to someone that is more of a specialist than the standard person who picks up?
I know CSRs are pretty much locked into what they can offer over the phone, but I just don't want them to get the one CSR that doesn't properly explain all of the appropriate deals and such.
Suggestions?

Grity, have your freind look in the phone book and call a local retailer or dealer. They will give the same deals as any 800 number or web site. The local guy may not offer a "FREE" DVD or sound system but I would bet the install and service after the sale would be much better. Heck.. if your in the Omaha area p.m. me.

Thanks, I will tell him to look into the local installers, plus I passed on the Clubdish info.

I'm in Maryland, so Omaha is a bit far.
