I remember reading about the issue with ImageMagick quite some time ago and I'll bet that it's been fixed. The fixed version now needs added back to people's systems (and re-enabled). Many sites may simply wait for Xenforo to take care of all of this...

The exploit was made public (not sure if that means ImageMagick found out at that same time or not) on May 3. On May 4, they released an update that fixed it.

Tried XNCONVERT or XNVIEW MP? There should be plenty of alternatives to IMAGEMAGICK out there.
