Where is it? And what is it called?

maybe you'll be able to post some pics :D make sure to take one of paul for us since i won't be able to make the trip.

Yeah, I will be sure to post some. The wife goes camera crazy on any little trip.
Gonna go to the casinos this weekend to see Carlos Mencia. It is the wifes birthday today and he is her favorite comedian.

ATL in June is HOT HOT HOT. Hopefully you'll get good weather for the game and it won't be too bad. What else are you planning to do while in town?

Yeah, I am used to the heat being in mississippi (well, how used to this heat can anyone really get? lol)

Not sure really. We have a friend that moved over there last year, so we are going to hang out with her and her husband at the game.

Maybe six flags, eat, shop, ect...

Any suggestions? I have not been to atlanta in 10 years or so.

i haven't been in atlanta for awhile but you could visit stone mountain park. really nice. you could also check out underground. go to this website ( Underground Atlanta )

Nah, mencia is this weekend in Biloxi.

Yeah, I have been to stone mountian before. I dont think she has. I may take her, its neat

Thanks Kevin!

We are staying in Atlantic Staion or around the Virginia Highland area. Have not decided which yet.

Has six flags really gotten that bad?

It's a great place if you like non English speaking and pants hanging down there butt. The few times I have been there it seems like Thugville. It's has been a while. I just don't care for teen hang outs. My age may be showing.
I'd stay Highlands before ATL station- much nicer.

I aprpeciate the info.

I will look at both places again, and show them to the wife.

Are both places fairly safe?

Midtown east of 85 is best location. We use Expedia or Hotwire to book rooms. We stay DT quite a bit. Too far to drive back on a Saturday night after dinner and cocktails

Atlanta tourism is home to unique venues including the Inside CNN Studio Tours, the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Atlanta Botanical Garden, High Museum of Art, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Zoo Atlanta and the Atlanta History Center. Explore each of these Atlanta travel locations at a discount rate with the Atlanta CityPass.

Atlanta's neighborhoods create the landscape of this beautiful city. Got a few hours? Hang in Buckhead for legendary shopping at Phipps Plaza, Lenox Square, boutiques and galleries. Midtown is the heart of the arts with the High Museum, Alliance Theatre and Fox Theatre, plus dining and nightlife that's all the rage.

If you're looking for where the locals go, check out Virginia-Highland's boutiques and laid-back bars, Cabbagetown or Castleberry Hill, not to mention Little Five Points with all its cool, alternative shopping, bars, restaurants and even an Elvis shrine at the Star Community Bar.

Just be sure to watch yourself, Atlanta and really allot of north Georgia has been dealing with a crime wave for the last few years and its not showing any sign of getting any better.
