Google Play Movies & TV arrives on Roku devices

Wow, that is big. What do they not have now that is mainstream? Itunes is pretty much it huh?

I am curious why google would release the nexus player around the same time that they do this. Wouldnt google play be the main reason to buy one of those players in the first case?
With Roku now having access to the same "exclusive" content, why not just buy a roku, gain access to amazon and other channels, and call it a day?

I put the Google channel on my Roku 3 and looked at the cost of a few movies....then I promptly removed it. Maybe I'm wrong but I could buy the dvd for that price or wait til it shows up at Redbox.
Did I miss something here? $13.99 or so a movie

At 13.99$ you are buying the digital version of the movie. Most VOD movie rentals at 3.99-6.99$, TV shows go for 1.99$ to 2.99$
