Does this news get any one excited?
No.

Google is actually not very good at searching.

When I am looking for a TV show, I do not want the search to return the most popular show related to my search.

The very best search engine actually is ebay's - because their sales are dependent on customers finding exactly what they were looking for.

PS The obvious intent here is for Dish and Google to partner together in making more money from their customers...

Charlie's going to announce tonight the 922 will have the Android operating system with Google search. It will work with any touch-screen TV. :D

Your search results are in, but you first have to watch this 30 second commercial based on the type of person we think you are from your searches and TV choices. Then we will show you a list of what we think you are looking for, but wait want to search again, here is another commercial...

Being an Android user, this is awesome news. This will only make DISH Network better. Hopefully, we will see more Android integration in the future. Its time to take it to the next level.

DROOOOOOOOOOOOOID.

To extend the analogy, the best apps will go to the "other" platform first (DirecTV) and we will have to wait for them to be ported over.

At least they won't block porn searches!

Maybe DISH is just trying to steal some intellectual property from Google. It wouldn't be the first time DISH has done such a thing.
