got a question....please help!!!

I recently got a new tv for my living room and decided to move the tv i had in there into the bedroom. Im with dish network and have a box in the living room but only the coax out of the wall in the bedroom. My tv doesnt have a coax plug in it only has rca, component, s video and hdmi. I found a converter box that i thought would work but cant seem to get it. Could someone please tell me if this converter box just plain wont work of maybe if i have something wrong or even if i just need to get a dish box in the bedroom.

the converter box is an RCA Combination RF Modulator and Switcher and the tv is a Toshiba 42DCP85...i can pm you links to both but the system wont let me post links yet.

i have the coax run into the ant in port on the box and have tried both rca's and s-video from the out port on the box to the tv and neither seem to work.

sounds like you are doing it right, did you change the input on the tv? is the receiver currently in dual mode? also verify when you put the new tv1 in, you didnt disconnect the diplexer on the back of the receiver

it is plugged into input 1 and thats what i have it on the tv...we had a tv in here before but it was just a cheapo that had a coax plug. and im not sure what your talking about on the diplexer....sorry im good at watching tv not so much fixing them or hooking them up

ok on the back of the receiver are there two items that look like splitters? or just one?

Just a thought...I'm assuming you have a dual tuner receiver? Do you have the modulator in the menu set up and synchronized with your bedroom tv?

he is using an rf modulator, it doesnt matter what the receiver is set to

Sounds like he needs a DEMODULATOR to take RF and change it back to Video and audio. If you still have one in the back room try a VCR as the tuner for the Toshiba.
