Gray Media Channels Return To Dish network

nope. I just am happy we have more OTA option then when I moved here 5 years ago. When I moved to Mankato it was CBS and FOX. That was it. Now we have NBC, CW, a sports channel, CBS, FOX, Ion, Weather, 365Blk and Oxygen

we are a market. Market 199 out of 210. On satellite you got KSTP ABC and KARE NBC from Minneapolis before that. CW wasnt allowed as there was a "cable only" CW for years. Satellite still gets KSTP ABC since there is none in the market. KARE was dropped when KMNF launched.

yup. The main station is high up on the KEYC tower, some 25 miles south of Mankato. They added a translator at the KEYC studio in North Mankato to cover North Mankato and Mankato much easier. Our DMA is only 4 counties :)

They are helping out folks who told satellite and cable to shove it due to the pricing skyrocketing for the same rerun crap. I do not have Dish. I use my antenna and have Hulu for ABC programming. There are stations on VHF that folks have issues with or the UHF station doesnt cover the area. So they have UHF translators so folks can get the stations. Great example is Rochester, MN. The Fox affiliate (KXLT) as example before Gray bought it didn't cover a fair amount of the market (mainly in Iowa). So when Gray bought the station they added a translator station in Mason City, IA which is part of the market.
Well hope ATSC 3.0 doesn't come your way.

Certainly if you only do offair for nets then you have more (for free) than before. But they didn't do it for your particular benefit.

As to only being eligible for one or 2 distant nets (such as ABC, NBC) due to no local presence, does DiSH cut back on the rate ask any?

More channels for viewers to view :)

No clue what you're asking. It's the same price according to the Dish site of $14. Again I do not have Dish as I am an apartment dweller.
The market currently gets ABC (as none in the market) and National PBS (and NOT in HD)

Why is that? Thought is was an upgrade
Yes so you can pay for your free channels......Wont that be grand? Plenty of information on it right here on this site......All they want to do is stick it to you any way they can. And if no one pushes back they win. They have won for decades charging you more for your locals on satellite, cable, and now streaming!

Antitrust laws have died and not been enforced for 50 years!

So then distant ABC & PBS (how not in HD?) plus local CBS, NBC & CW...? Or maybe not the CW?

But it's mix & match, right? Before (on DiSH) it was Fox & CBS from local and the rest (sans CW) from distant, and now it's Fox, CBS, NBC & CW from local and ABC & PBS from distant (?)

It was CBS and FOX from Mankato + NBC, ABC from Minneapolis and the PBS national
When Mankato got a local NBC the Minneapolis one got dropped. CW hasn't been carried. There is no ABC in market. So Dish subs get ABC Minneapolis. Directv is same thing. 5 stations carried.

I don't get why you keep asking. I've already posted it a few times.

It is considered a distant as we do not have an ABC in market as I've mentioned 3 or 4 times including my original post in this thread which is post #2. There are other markets missing an ABC like Presque Isle Maine, Parkersburg West Virginia, Zanesville Ohio. They all get a neighboring ABC.
Directv folks get it too
Most streaming services don't give it to you. You get a ABC which is the National programming and ABC News Now when there is no network programming. When I tried YouTubeTV that is how it was.

would figure the 2 channels I care about ABC and Fox which are 23 and 25 miles from both have horrible signal with OTA antennas (2) I have 1 is 3 bars that random drops to 1 and scrambles on clear day and other is 1 bar 2 at best and scrambling on clear day.

Gona have to look at better anntenna and if I find one that works good, I might at tablotv to it

Staying in an Aloft Hotel that has Dish Network for its in-room TV service. I tried tuning in to our local NBC affiliate, but it's owned by Gray and so I got to watch the "Gray is being unreasonable" barker channel.

Did it have an actual DiSH rx in-room? I would wonder what the hotel is getting charged for sat locals- can't be cheap. If I run it I'd be looking to grab those from offair.

Not that I saw. Aloft is a Marriott brand, and the Samsung TVs in the room had a box feeding the HDMI 2 port. It didn't look like any Dish hardware I've seen, but then I am not familiar with the commercial boxes, just their home receivers.

The box feature some streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, HBO, and Pandora.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but looks like an agreement with Gray Media was reached today! Locals are back!!

It's confirmed from Dish Net that Gray Media and Dish got in agreement today

I honestly didn't miss it (CBS is what I was missing from it)...biggest issue I have is the unknowns on what this will cost customers in the long run.
They should detail the deal and who got what.
