H20 question

I had to cancel the directv service awhile back

but will the OTA HD channels still work without an paid directv subscription ?

why would it say that when i have both the Satellite and OTA cables plugged into the unit ?

Because the card is deactivated. Basically, the the entire tuner is internally turned off.
DTV, when you no longer play with (pay) them, takes their bat (Sat service) and ball (OTA tuning capabilities) and goes home.

H20-600 Ota

Just got a previously owned H20-600 which I hooked up to my current 3-lnb system just to see if it worked before I install my 5-lnb Slimline. I will be using the H20 to replace one of my older receivers as soon as I get the new Slimline installed. I did a scan of the OTA channels and all show up in the channel guide and the signal meter shows a good signal on them. The receiver appears to be working normal on all channels but will not show a picture on any channels except the preview and info channels. There is just a black screen on the local channels and the "Service not activated (711)" message on all the other regular channels.

You have to have an active account (with the rec. in question on it) for these to work.
Pay the extra $ 5 p/m and they will work ...
