That plus they have way too many customer boxes pointed at the old satellites to move. It will be many years before DIRECTV considers giving up the old DBS satellites.

Directv is only peripherally involved in the suit. I do not think it is a defendant. Dish is tangling with a division of News Corp, which divested it's stake in D*.

This is about money and machismo. Pure and simple.

Not suprising. Saw a special on Las Vegas casino cheaters. One in particular demonstrated all kids of cheating methods on card games, dice games and slot machines. He was banned from every casino in the US and Europe. He served time.
The man is now a security consultant to several major casinos in Nevada and makes a very good living.
