Has anyone got Amazon Prime working on their Joey's?

I've tried for weeks calling into Dish Support. Some say that Prime should work on the new Joey 3's, others say it's not supported, which is weird as the Joey just receives a stream from the Hopper 3. I can get Amazon Prime fine on the Hopper, but I can only see Netflix on my Joey's. I have check that I do not have the prime channel locked out and not removed from any favorites list.

If anyone has managed to get Amazon Prime to show up on your Joey, can you post how you did it? It's a little frustrating, starting something on Prime, then going upstairs to continue watching and NADA.

Thanks,
B

Amazon Prime is not available on any Joey of any kind. Most say that this is an Amazon decision based on non-availablility of HDR or certain audio standards on the Joeys.

As the Joey's just mirror the Hopper 3, just curious if Dish could address this with a software upgrade to the Joey's or is the physical hardware not in the Joey 3's? If the 2nd, then we're up sheets-creek. Time to wait for a Joey 4 and pay more money! Thanks

The hardware in the joeys is not the same as the hoppers...
There a versions of streams which the hopper can decode but the joey cannot.
The joey is not a mirrored hopper.

It works just fine on my 4k joey.

I just noticed that while Prime (channel 301) shows on my HWS and my Joey 3, it doesn't show on my wireless Joey. I reset the Joey but that didn't do anything. Is there a reason for that or do I need to do something?
Wireless Joeys are the same hardware as a Joey 2.0, which does not support prime video. Only receivers that do are the Hopper 2/3/Duo, Joey 3 and Joey 4K.

I didn't know that. Thanks.

P.S. I assume that goes for the newer wireless Joey as well.
That is still unknown, but I don't see why it would not be supported. Since the new Joeys are probably coming out at the same time I presume they are based on the same components, with the wireless model having a Wi-Fi chipset added on. So unless they decided to remove prime video off the Wired Joey 4.0, it should be on the wireless one as well.

Speaking of which, I took another look at the FCC filing the other day for the new Joey's and the request for confidentiality expires on 11/25, so we might see either a release or the information withheld by the FCC out soon (Internal/External pictures and User manual). Or if these requests can be extended then maybe still nothing (IDK enough about how these legal things work).

I get Amazon Prime on my Joey 3s. Just had to set up Bridging in the Hopper. But now I get a message saying bad HDMI cable on one of the Joeys, the other one works fine. On the one with the problem, I can watch DISH programming and I get sound from Prime but no picture. I've replaced the cable and tried a different port on the TV.

Did you try to unplug the power cord from the Joey with the issue briefly? If that doesn't fix it you may have a bad HDMI port on your Joey. You might try to swap the Joey to the other location. All you have to do is unplug the HDMI, power, and coax cable and move that Joey to the other location and change that locations cabling to the the moved Joey. You will need to bring your remote with you and probably turn your TV on with the TV remote temporarily. Did the issue follow to the other location? If all fails it's time to call DISH.
