I've got a drive and my drive is always close to full, will be nice to get some of the HD movies off there.

How about no drive until the announcement. There's a Fry's where I live. I know they will put drives on special the weekend after Dish's announcement. I'm waiting for Dish to truly specify what they will allow as well as the max capacity.

Nope I don't even know if I will get one, I don't really save things, I watch them then delete them.

BTW folks PLEASE stop PMing me asking for advice for what External USB drive to get, today I have received over 30 PM's seeking this advice.

I have not shopped for any units and at the moment I don't plan on shopping for one. :)

Thanks

I will store movies that I can't get on High Definition Optical yet -- like the Star Wars films etc. Some of the stuff on HDNet Movies is very good too :D

Cheers,

Had a Seagate 500GB HDD & USB 2.0 vented external enclosure already laying around. Slapped them together and plugged them into 622 - instantly recognized. 622 grabbed an ip address from my router this morning, also.

I will use an external seagate 500gb hard drive for all the movies I like to record and use the 722 internal hard drive for tv shows, once it ships to me next week. I will use a 250 gb seagate hard drive for my porn collection on my other receiver a 622 ,so I won't have to see Locked event in the middle of my Kid's shows on his tv. During fall season I get a lot of shows that I record that fill up the hard drive . This external hard drives will come in handy.

My, that is very poor service from you. I think you owe it to this user community to get off of your fat butt, buy a couple of drives and write up detailed 10 page reports on how well each works. Those should be posted in a sticky by 8/16.

I brought home a 250GB LaCie (Design by F.A. Porsche: big whoop, he designed a rectangular gray box, an impressive feat if you're five years old) from the office. ViP622 recognized it was there, told me twice it would be formatted and the box would reboot, which it actually did.

I forsee getting some USB enclosures for all those old IDE drives I have lying around.
