I'm in Venezuela and just upgraded today to the High Definition DVR today model LHR22. (I had the older DVR before)
It is part of a whole entertainment unit setup that includes a yamaha receiver,
model HTR-5840, DVD player, Sony Trinitron TV, as well as Sony DVD burner.
I need help getting the volume and mute control on the Direct TV remote to operate the volume and mute button on the Yamaha receiver instead of the TV
I had set this up with the former Direct TV Plus DVR by doing the following:
1. Set the direct tv remote to AV 1 or AV 2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 993
4. press Select
Unfortunately, with this new HD DVR model LHR22, that doesn't work and I have to use the Yamaha remote to do the volume. Bah! Two remotes are the dark ages! (that is...if One will work instead wherever two or more are gathered inn Thy name...http://www.satelliteguys.us/images/smilies/smile.gif
