hd/dvr mpeg4 questions

1)how can i tell if i have a 3 or 5lnb dish?
2) i also want to know if i have an older hd/dvr thats under the model H20, and i have another tv/box that has the newest hd/dvr and i subscribe to hd service and nfl ticket superfan...will the older model still get the games on the hd channels?
i hear different things from the call center reps, I am trying to avoid paying the $200 deposit for another receiver and still enjoy the game in true high def..they keep talking about this mpeg4 stuff and it may be true, but seems like they just want me to buy the new box...

1. you can check in the menu under setup.
2. you need a H20/HR20 or better for ST in HD

The 3 lnb dish has one pod on it, the 5 has three. Like Lkr posted, look in your setup menu. It will show which dish you are set up for, assuming it is set up correctly.
