HD DVR RF/IR remote question

Are these receivers not cabable of having both IR and RF remote in use at the same time?

Nope, one or the other at a time. You can use 2 RF at the same time though with the same receiver. Just not IR and RF at the same time.

Well that sucks and is just plain stupid if you ask me. Means I can't use RF out of the room while using my Harmony remote in the room.

Sorry man. I ran into the same problem. Not with a Harmony but, I ended up having to get a second RF remote when I make the switch to RF. Two different types of technologies.

I don't see the need to disable IR when RF is enabled.
