I keep getting the "Total Signal Loss" error message at random times on the HD channels. Some days its fine other days , constantly. The SD channels do not have this issue. I've rebooted, unplugged, checked connections, no vegetation blocking dish, etc. Same issue. This is with a 722K. Suggestions?

Ahh! One other thing can cause this that I know of. If one of the tuners is on an OTA channel, assuming you use OTA, and if that signal is lost, you get that message.

Try pressing 'swap' and changing the other tuner to a non-OTA channel.

I do have the OTA module with the 722K and I have a roof mount antenna which I've not experienced a signal loss with. Should I disconnect the coax feed to the DVR?

No, just use 'swap' and ensure that you are not leaving one tuner setting on the OTA. Or just do it when you get the error, which is what I do.

Of course, if you never watch OTA, then you could disconnect the coax from it, or take the module out.

To the OP: I can setup an appointment for you if you still need it, just PM a phone number or account number

Other things you can try if you haven't would be hard reset (unplug receiver for 15 seconds), make sure all cables are tight, and run a check switch test (menu-6-1-1-check switch-test).

If the check switch says there are fewer satellites than previously detected, make sure you select cancel

We assume you do know that HD and SD are usually from different satellites. This is especially true for the Locals. To check which satellite is being shown (not available for recordings) press the Info button twice and the satellite number will be in a corner of the box.

Find out while it is working and it can change if the channel is received from more than one satellite. Also use Menu+6+1+3 to check 4 transponders of each satellite, only 1 TP for 129W or Menu+6+1+1 to check any individual TP--it will start on the current satellite and TP.

So, the technician came out, swapped out a few connectors and changed the LNB on the 129 dish. Still nothing. Now I have NO signal at all, no HD or SD. He gave up and left. Real great service. No programming at all now.

Hopefully one of the DIRT team will pick up on this. There is no excuse for a tech leaving without fixing the problem without some very good explanation.

I'm kind of at a loss of what to do next. Call Dish back, cancel service or what. Pretty pitiful after having it for 11 years and now this fiasco.

That is a sorry excuse for a dish installer.Pm one of the dirt team members here, chances are you will get much better results.

If you've been with Dish for 11 years and had mostly good service, then I wouldn't let one nimrod be the cause of leaving. Call Dish or PM one of the DIRT team, I'm sure one or both will get the issue resolved.

Send me your phone number in a PM and I'll give you a call so we can get this taken care of.

Sorry about the hassle, but I'll make sure we get this taken care of
