just wondering if hdnet or hdmovies will be mpeg 4 when this new package goes into effect.

They probably won't move to Mpeg4 until next year when all HD goes to Mpeg4. Next year it is rumored that NFL Superfan will also transition to Mpeg4.

I thought they were mpeg4 now and that's why they are now in the HD Pak because none of those channels have SD counterparts.

Nope. All of the National HD channels that were around before this new rollout are in MPEG2 and will be that way for some period of time (no one knows exactly how long, or they aren't saying). Only the HD Locals, and the new HD channels are in MPEG4.

They are in the HD pack because they don't have SD counterparts - that part is right - but it has nothing to do with MPEG2 vs. MPEG4.
