HDTV Direct Tivo Discount for existing and New customers

How much of a discount, if any, do you normaly get for being an existing customer of Direct TV and purchasing a new HD Tivo

I am thinking hard about switching to Direct TV.

I would do it now, but I wonder if I waited till the new HD Tivo is out that I would save several hundreds of dollards as I would be buying it as a new customer.

In other words, if I bought a Regual Direct TV now and one 2nd room basic recevier for $39 and then also bought a Direct HD Tivo for the 4rd room in March, do I have to pay list price on it? Never bough Direct TV stuff before.

Do they have discounts for Existing customers?

Should I switch now or wait?

What do you think?

Great question! I'm wondering the same thing. I finally decided to make the switch to D* and would love to do it now but want to get a HD DirecTivo at the best price I can shortly after it's released.

As far as I know, being that not only is it going to be a new product, the shortage of it will make it a supply and demand product, therefore, don't expect much, if any, discounts whether you are a new or existing customer. I will be placing my order the second it becomes available, regardless of price (as long as my wife doesn't find out)

Existing subs pay $399 for HD receiver + 3-LNB upgrade + install.

New subs can get deals as a package for a bit cheaper (but not much). The best I know is from where I bought mine: the "deal" has net price of $339 for HD receiver + 3-LNB + multi-switch + install + extra non-HD receivers for your bedrooms if you wish.

Yes, in fact any package for new subs has that. This comes directly from Directv when you activate your package. They also change their promotion from time to time, so it really depends on the date of activation not when you buy your package.
