Help! Can I get USA stations in Panama?

Does anyone Know if it is possible to get my english speaking stations from the states in Panama?

Do I need to bring my D receiver from Florida with me?
Since I will be there for more than a year I do need some advice.

Doubt your USA gear will work as the beams rarely extend that far.

Many Many years ago I had a DEA agent stationed in Panama put up a 16' dish for "C" band reception so the answer is yes you can get American programming. It ain't cheap and I doubt D* or DISH will work.

Even the continental coverage is beamed at the US only so don't think you will get anything down there. Maybe the Central American coverage will give English channels like we have Latin channels.

I know Cable Onda in Panama use to have 2 or 3 US channels, ABC, NBC & FOX! They were from odd DMAs though, from what I recall. Not sure if they still have the channels on there, will have to ask my friend if his parent's still get them.
