Hello;

I am about at my wits end and was hoping for some help. I searched the forum and did not find this particular answer.

I have a DirecTV service with an RCA Ultimate TV receiver and a 4x8 RCA D6530 Multi-switch with Powerboost(compatable with Directv).

I have a round dish with a dual LNB. The two RG6 cables run to the box on the house. From there, the two RG6 cable continue right to the RCA Receiver (for the Directv line and Ultimate TV).

I cut the RG6 lines and hooked it up to the multi-switch. (Even tried switching around the cables but from what I am reading, this may not make a difference.) I get Zero signal. Now, if I were to disconnect from the multi-switch and touch the wires together, I get a locking signal. I thought the Multi-switch may have been bad, so I bought another model multi-switch (non-RCA but made for DTV), and still no signal. I called Directv level one and two for Tech support, they've exhausted their ideas and suggested an installer.

I intend on hooking up two new receivers on line 3 and 4 of the multiswitch after Christmas.

Any ideas on what I could check next?? I'm totally baffled by this. Appreciate any helpful suggestions.

if i am not mistaking the ulitmate tv will not work though the mulitswitch it has to be direct line from the dish you may have to get the oval dish with the 4 imput on the lmb to make this work and than you will not need the mulitswich you will already have your 4 imput need for your 2 receiver and your ulimate tv.

Hmmmmm...thanks for the information TYORK....Actually that would make sense cause I know everything was hooked up correctly or tried it different ways more than once. I will have to check into this... can anyone out there that can confirm this?

my brother in law has an ultimate system and two hughes gaebo recievers , a paratodos two lnb dish ran thru a non powered 3 x 4 multiswitch with no problem. he got the ultimate as a tip at an install 3 years ago. there is something else wrong there

turned out to be a bad multi-switch. Got a new one and it works fine. Thanks.
